In my previous post about creating websites as a creative outlet, Synergy Slam Poets is a series of themed poetry, spoken word and performance workshop programs I founded, curate and facilitate in partnership with Apples and Snakes poetry organisation.
Synergy Slam Poetry Programs are at their core about enjoyment, knowledge sharing and connection through creativity around climate, environmental and ecological themes in the context of living in the city or big country towns.
What was my thinking at the time of Synergy Slam Poets project creation?
Imaging the future with compulsory green walls and roof top gardens
Horticulture included the schools curriculum of sciences as compulsory learning from primary school age through to exam time in secondary school and college
having access to 'the language of an inspired future'.
With this ongoing project, I acquired a new confidence in a visual language around the concept of sustainability and eco-awareness that is light on politics and heightened focus on a global human culture more in tune with planet Earth's behaviour.
I wanted the website design for Synergy Slam Poets to be energised and inspire curiosity, and the branding to have a bit of a vintage feel echoing how long people have been speaking about environmental issue but with a contemporary twist.
